What We've Been Up To.....

The past couple months have been really busy and fun. Jill came to town for almost a month and I finally got to meet my only little nephew, Baby Jace.

I just love him, we all do, we were lucky enough to hang out with him for 3 weeks, I miss him like crazy!

We did lots of fun things while Jill, Tyler, and Jace were visiting...

We went to Swiss Days, my first time. It was pretty fun, just really hot and really crowded, but the scones were sure delicious!

Jace was blessed here in Utah, here we are at his blessing breakfast.

We visited the Great State Fair...

Well, that about sums it up! Good-bye!!

P.S. Jace, if you are reading this, get back to Utah, your auntie misses you!!

Harvey

At the beginning of the summer Todd's family dog, Rex, was chasing a little baby duck around the yard. Brenda was able to snatch the duck from Rex, but could not find it's mother. She knew how much Todd loves ducks, so she gave the little guy to him to raise. He was so tiny and cute. We named him Harvey.

Todd loved Harvey. There were times where I'd be inside and notice Todd had been missing for a while. I found him in the garage holding Harvey.

It is hard to believe after only a few months little Harvey turned into this...

Todd tried to get Harvey to fly, but his attempts would always end with Harvey doing a face plant into the ground. One day I came home from work and Todd was all sweaty and was holding a flashlight. I asked him what he had been doing and he told me he had been searching for Harvey all night long, Harvey had flown away. Poor Todd, his little friend was gone, without a proper good-bye. Todd held out hope for a few days that Harvey would return. He said, "He'll be back in the morning, I know him." Harvey never came back, but I told Todd that is a sign he was a good mother, Harvey is able to leave the nest and be on his own.

July Festivities

July was really busy, with school and work, but we managed to have a lot of fun. Here's what we have been up to. Caution: This will be a really long post!

First up, was the Fourth of July, one of the best holidays ever. We went to the Western Stampede Rodeo with the Margetts and had a really fun time.

We also managed to get away for a short camping trip with my family. Of course a camp is not a camp without a good theme right??! The theme was "Bill and Carlene's Zoo" (which is very fitting). Every family had to pick an animal to be. Todd and I were Kangaroos, aka: Big Roo and Lil Roo. Todd was pretty offended that he was Big Roo.

This is my hot Grandma and Grandpa, don't they look good? Aunt B put their faces on the Crocodile Hunter and his wife's bodies.

Haha, I love their outfits, they are Penguins:

We went on a really fun hike around Silver Lake. It was so pretty up there.

We had a really good time, I definitely need to spend more time camping!

Up next: Pioneer Day. We always go to the Bees game on the 24th of July. It was really fun and relaxing. The fireworks show was really good.

I can't believe summer is almost over. It is crazy how fast the past couple months have gone by. It will be Halloween and Christmas before we know it!Ahhhh!!!!

White Trash Fun and Father's Day

One of the reasons why I love West Jordan is for the Demolition Derby. West Jordan's finest come out for the event. It is almost as much fun to people watch as it is to watch the cars crash. Special thanks to Father Young for giving us all the free Nachos, Pizza, Hotdogs, Hamburgers, Dr. Pepper, and candy we could eat. A Demolition Derby isn't the same without eating like a complete pig.

Father's Day was really fun. We had dinner at my parent's house and then headed to my Grandma's for pie.

We gave my dad a pretty cool flashlight. I think it shines clear to outer space.

Memorial Day and St. George

I had to work all of Memorial Day Weekend so we didn't get to go on any vacations, but we did manage to take a trip to the cemetery to visit my Grandma and Grandpa Young's grave and my Great Grandma and Grandpa Gronning's grave.

First we picked some peonies to place on the headstones. These flowers have been in my dad's family for generations, my dad transplanted some to his yard from my Grandma Young's yard. They are so pretty, I need to make sure to get some for my yard.

And of course a trip to the cemetery wouldn't be complete without a photo shoot. Here is a beautiful pic I took of sis.

The next weekend Todd and I headed down to St. George for a little vacation. We had a lot of fun swimming, watching tv, and being lazy.

One day Todd came out of the bedroom wearing some goggles and one of his dad's hats. He also found a pair of goggles for me. There is always one creep at the pool wearing goggles. This time, Todd and I were those creeps. We dived for toys for hours in the pool. I decided to lay out and Todd stayed in the pool, with his goggles, diving for things by himself. Haha. People probably thought something was wrong with him. A giant man, 25 years old, swimming with a pair of goggles.

We also ate at a very delicious BBQ restaurant called Tony's Barbecue. I have been craving that pork sandwich since we left. If you go down there, you need to try it.

After dinner we went to visit the St. George Temple. I have never been up close to this Temple and I never realized how pretty it is. It is so white.

It was so nice to get away, I already need to go back!!!
